Born in 1986 the singer, songwriter, and keyboard player born in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Rickson lost all his vision in a bombing which broke the walls of his school at the beginning of the First Congo War in 1996.
Rising up from this Rickson is launching his musical career here in Canada.

On Friday, October 13th, you’re invited to a gathering of colourful eclectic Winnipeg artists : pop-rock-reggae singer-songwriter Rickson Makwe, as well as another singer-songwriter : Stacey James, and a bilingual (French and English) group sharing universal songs of love and hope : Children of the Father / Enfants du Père. All will be performing in a colourful venue, namely a former women’s clothing boutique renamed Yewtopia located at 87 King St. Admission is free and donations will be graciously accepted. Social distancing will be enforced and attendance will be limited but all are welcome to attend.
